International afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr recently had a major setback during her time in Manchester. After being stuck in an elevator while trying to make it to a concert in Eccles’ Lighthouse Venue, Ayra Starr documented the entire incident through a live Instagram session.
Ayra Starr, who is known for her hit single ‘Rush’, was on her way to perform at the concert in Manchester when tragedy struck. The elevator her and her team were riding in suddenly stopped working and they were unable to get out. Footage of the incident shows an understandably distressed Ayra Starr, panning the camera to show the crowd of people packed in the elevator as everyone tried to figure out a way to get out.
Nevertheless, Ayra Starr’s spirit was not dampened and she managed to lighten up the mood by playfully joking around and entertaining everyone stuck in the elevator. Ayra even mentioned that a Jamaican singer, Popcaan had promised to storm the venue and rescue them. Although help eventually arrived, the incident was enough to make Ayra Starr miss the concert in the UK.
